Come and sing with the Vasari singers
Bruckner choral workshop
Saturday 17 September, 10am – 5pm
St Luke’s Church, Battersea
Tickets still available on the door – all are welcome!
Following 2010′s immensely successful come and sing day for the Bach B Minor Mass, as part of the choir’s 30th anniversary Choral Masterworks series, this autumn the Vasari Singers is holding its 2nd come and sing choral workshop on choral works by Anton Bruckner.
In November, the choir will perform Bruckner’s Mass in E Minor plus other motets at a concert in St Martin-in-the-Fields, so why not join the Vasari Singers for a wonderful day of singing, learning key parts of the classical choral repertoire under the choir’s visionary director, Jeremy Backhouse.
“The day will include plenty of singing and refreshments, plus a short performance of the key choral movements at the end of the day, which is free and open to friends and family to attend. Absolutely everyone, with any (or no!) choral experience is invited to come and sing. The main work of the day will be on Bruckner’s wonderful E minor mass but we will start with some (possibly) more familiar Bruckner motets to warm up. A highlight of the day will be an attempt on Richard Strauss’s 16 part choral work ‘Der Abend’, which promises to be great fun! Tickets are just £12 and can be bought on the door on Saturday morning, please just turn up!
