saturday 24 july 7.30pmChoral Masterworks 3 Canterbury CathedralThe choir is delighted to be singing at Canterbury Cathedral as part of the Canterbury Gift appeal. The concert will feature three of most intimate and powerful choral works in the choir’s repertoire for which we have received some of our finest performance accolades, and music commissioned by the choir with direct links to Canterbury Cathedral. The concert will also include a new work (in memoriam Allan Wicks) by former Canterbury Cathedral chorister and now eminent conductor and composer, Stephen Barlow. We will also perform a new work by the brilliant composer Gabriel Jackson (also a former Canterbury choirster), written for and to be premiered in the cathedral at the memorial serivce for Allan Wicks on Friday 22 May. This will be a concert not to miss. Vaughan williams: mass in g minor Herbert Howells: requiem Parry: songs of farewell ALL proceeds from this concert go towards the Save the Cathedral Appeal.
