The Making of the Drum

Bob Chilcott’s lively, rhythmic work provides the title of this concert, which also features J S Bach’s Singet dem Herrn, Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb and Kodaly’s Laudes Organi.

Services & Concert
We are delighted to be making our first visit to Truro Cathedral, where as well as singing services we will give a lunchtime recital at 1pm on Saturday 11th April to include Bob Chilcott’s The Making of the Drum, Kodaly’s Laudes organi, J S Bach’s Singet dem Herrn and Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Let all the world in every corner sing. Admission is free and tickets do not need to be booked in advance, and there will be a retiring collection to support music at the cathedral.

Concert For Rowan
Will Todd’s The City Garden and Bob Chilcott’s Salisbury Vespers – a concert with Vivace Chorus and Salisbury Community Choir which, for the first time, brings together all three of Jeremy Backhouse’s choirs.
As one of Jeremy’s choirs, we are delighted to have been asked to participate in this concert alongside Vivace Chorus and Salisbury Community Choir, singing music by two composers who have long been associated with us.

Fairwarp Flower Festival Concert
Christ Church, Fairwarp, TN22 3BY.
As part of Fairwarp’s Flower Festival, which this year celebrates the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, we are presenting a pot pourri of music including Stanford, Finzi, Elgar and Swingle. The second half is a dedication from Vasari Singers to our first patron, Ward Swingle. Fairwarp was a large part of his life and he is now buried in the churchyard there.
There is a BBQ before the concert from 5.30 with pudding served in the interval. A bar will be available. Tickets for the concert and barbecue are £25 and can be obtained by calling 01892 664471.

Magnificat and Nunc dimittis by Jonathan Dove, Portsmouth Service and anthem by Will Todd, Christus est stella.
Sunday 26th July Eucharist at 11am
Mass setting by Langlais, anthem by Grunenwald, De profundis
Sunday 26th July Evensong at 3.15pm
Magnificat and Nunc dimittis by Howells, Westminster Service, anthem by Wood, O thou the central orb.
