    Raise the Roof - a feast of words and music

    In aid of the restoration appeal for St James's Church

    Join Vasari and a host of other top artists for a concert of words and music with readings by Joanna Lumley, Sir David Attenborough and Ronnie Corbett. 

    The programme starts at 6.30 to 7.45 ish and includes, Blake, Karen Geogehan (BBC Classical Star), Brilliante Brass and pianist Jenny Trew. 

    Vasari's segment will include the following: 

    Handel: Zadok the Priest
    Bach: Jesu Joy of man’s desiring
    Fauré: Cantique de Jean Racine

    Kern/Swingle: All the things you are
    Loesser: Sit down you’re rocking the boat
    Parry: Jerusalem

    An exciting concert featuring programming around Biblical visions, this programme features several recent Vasari commissions, a world premiere of a new commission by Michael Berkeley, and the apocalyptic "Vision of aeroplanes" by Vaughan Williams. The concert sees Vasari return to the festival and venue where the choir premiered the groundbreaking oratorio Cloud of Unknowing in 2006, opening the 2008 London Festival of Contemporary Church Music.

    Requiem for Remembrance

    This gala concert, on Remembrance Day 2008 will see Vasari give the World Premiere to the group's latest large-scale commission - a new 30minute a capella Requiem by leading British choral composer Gabriel Jackson.
