This summer, Vasari Singers will be celebrating the 500th Anniversary of the artist/polymath Giorgio Vasari (1611) with a tour to Italy.
The famous painter, architect and writer was born in Arezzo in Tuscany on July 30 1611 and the choir will be visiting and singing in the towns and churches where he lived and worked including the famous Vasari Corridor in Florence.
If you are in Italy, join us in concert for a selection of the choir’s favourite a capella music. Italian composers Monteverdi, Pizzetti and Lotti alongside a showcase of contemporary British composers – Gabriel Jackson, Will Todd and John Rutter – and the more contemplative music of Maurice Durufle and CV Stanford. Concerts include:
Arrezo – 29 May, Chiesa della Badia, 9pm
Todi – 31 May, Sala Consiliare 5pm
Anghiari – 2 June, Piazza Mameli, 6pm
Citta di Castello – 3 June, Chiesa di San Francesco
